What UniCost is
UniCost is a free, educational calculator that helps parents and students model the cost of a UK Plan 5 student loan and its effect on graduate take-home pay. It is not a financial advice service, not a lender, and not affiliated with the Student Loans Company or the UK government.
Not financial advice
All outputs are projections based on the assumptions you enter and on publicly available figures such as tax thresholds, maintenance-loan tapers and Plan 5 rules. Real-world entitlement, interest rates, repayment thresholds and tax rates change over time. Before making any financial decision, speak to a qualified adviser or consult the official Student Loans Company guidance.

You may use the calculator without creating an account. If you sign in with Google, your saved models are stored in your account and protected so that only you can access them. See our Privacy notice for full details.
